One-pound Gospel is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Rumiko Takahashi, serialized from July 1987 to December 2006. It combines the sports (boxing) and romantic comedy genres. The story revolves around Kosaku Hatanaka, who is a talented boxer with a big appetite. Studio Gallop produced an anime OVA in 1988, and a live-action TV drama adaptation aired in 2008. Viz Media licensed the manga and OVA for North America.
