Khan Kluay is a 2006 Thai computer-animated adventure film set in Ayutthaya-era Siam about a Thai elephant who becomes the war elephant for King Naresuan. Directed by Kompin Kemgumnird, the film was released on May 18, 2006 in Thailand. It is based on the story Chao Phraya Prap Hongsawadee by Ariya Jintapanichkarn. The film was also released as The Blue Elephant in the United States and as Jumbo in India. Khan Kluay took three years to make and features animation work by an animator who had previously worked on Disney films such as Atlantis: The Lost Empire and Tarzan, as well as Blue Sky Studios' Ice Age.
